Our School Year Our school operates on a trimester system meaning we have Spring, Summer and Winter terms. Each term ends with an assessment of the material covered in classes. These are known as Spring, Summer and Winter Assessments.

Our Curriculum

We currently use the Term Book series. One of the benefits of this series is the low number of text books students are required to carry between home and school. This is something that is actually a goal of ours- to minimize the weight of school bags as much as possible.

Classes I, II, III, IV, V One Text Book* Per Term

Class VI, VII, VIII Two Text Books* Per Term One Science Text One Social Studies Text *Texts include all study material for each class for each term.

Our Record Keeping & Grading Systems

The roll numbers of students and their daily attendance are recorded in alphabetical order.

Their assessment results (our term for "examination") are also printed out and displayed in the same order. This is so each student can locate their own details without having to search above or below a red line indicating a pass or fail status.

This is merely one way LFS incorporates inclusiveness into our daily routines.

Probe Exercise books are used for each subject and this is where students' internal, weekly assessments & probes (tests) are recorded. These are a very effective way of following a child's progress and grades through the school year.
